Our vision is to cultivate and nurture Canadian talent in traditional Shaolin martial arts. We have three main approaches:
1. Raise Awareness
Shaolin is a 1,500 year old culture recognized today for its incredible martial arts, making it an iconic symbol of Chinese culture.
It was founded in a temple in a young forest near Deng Feng, China. We are not a religious institution and instead practice what is called Shaolin Chán (Zen) philosophy.
It is compatible with all religions, non-religions, and spirituality.
Today, Shaolin is multicultural, with establishments all over the world. We have the priviledge in Canada to celebrate this 1,500 year legacy through Master Shi Guo Song and his disciples.
To explore traditional Shaolin and its schools in Canada, please visit our affiliated charity named Shaolin Luohan Temple.
The Shaolin Arts through kung fu, tai chi, qigong, and meditation promote both physical and mental health. This is the power of the Shaolin Chán (Zen) philosophy and wisdom.
2. Support Canadians in International competitions
International Shaolin competitions such as the Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Festival have participation from over 50 countries in the world.
Canada’s presence was missing at the 2016 festival because of the lack of financial support.
Regular representation at these events elevates Canada on the international level.
Through sponsorship and funding, we provide financial aid for our athletes to travel and represent Canada.
3. Develop talent through our own festivals and competitions
Regularly celebrating through festivals and competitions help develop talent and expertise in the traditional Shaolin arts.
There are not many tournaments that focus on traditional martial arts, and no other in the world that showcases the unique nature of Shaolin.
Our inaugural Shaolin Team Canada Wushu Festival was held in October of 2019, which featured traditional Shaolin taolu forms as well as unique and exciting Olympic-style timed events that demonstrate Shaolin techniques.
Our festivals promote the Shaolin Spirit and friendship.
