We’re excited to inform you that the Shaolin Team Canada Wushu Festival is formally open for registration!
The 1st Inaugural Shaolin Team Canada Wushu Festival will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2019 and hosted at the downtown Toronto STQI school, located at 393 Dundas Street West, 2nd Floor. All events are categorized by age and gender – both adults and children are encouraged to participate. The deadline to register is October 27, 2019.
What is the Shaolin Team Canada Wushu Festival About?
The Shaolin Team Canada Wushu Festival is an exciting opportunity to “make friends through traditional Shaolin Wushu“. Compete in traditional Shaolin taolu hand and weapons forms or race against time in Shaolin-related Timed Events. All events will be grouped by age group and gender.
In the spirit of Shaolin, everyone wins a medal! The top 20% wins a Gold Medal, the next 30% a Silver Medal, and the rest a Bronze Medal.
This festival is a means to develop Canadian talent for traditional Shaolin arts. Shaolin Team Canada is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to foster this talent and financially support atheletes to represent Canada in traditional Shaolin tournaments around the world.
The wushu festival will happen every 2 years and is exclusive to students of STQI across Canada (you must have registered and taken a qigong, gentle kung fu, or regular kung fu class in 2019).
